As of 31 March 2025, Slovenia has officially ended the early warning phase of its gas supply crisis, marking the conclusion of the initial stage of the crisis response. According to the Slovenian Government, gas transmission to the country is stable and operating at full capacity, with no disruptions expected due to current conditions in the European gas market and the operational status of suppliers.
The early warning phase was first declared on 12 July 2022 by the Slovenian Energy Agency during the height of the energy crisis. Despite the challenges and uncertainties in the gas market, the coordinated efforts of EU member states, suppliers, and system operators helped ensure the steady supply of gas to Slovenia.
Although the global and European gas market conditions have improved over the past three years, the government remains cautious and committed to monitoring gas storage levels within the EU, especially in preparation for the winter season. Slovenia will continue to closely track its gas supply situation and will take necessary actions as needed, following established regulatory procedures.
The country also remains focused on expanding renewable energy sources and developing renewable gases to be integrated into the existing gas network, strengthening the long-term reliability of Slovenia’s energy supply.
