Hungary to import up to 8.5 billion cubic meters of Russian gas in 2025

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced that Hungary plans to import between 8 and 8.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia this year. He stated that the country is already receiving gas under a long-term contract, which has so far ensured the delivery of 4.5 billion cubic meters.

In addition to the base contract, supplementary agreements are in place that will increase the total volume to the projected amount for 2024. Minister Szijjártó also made it clear that Hungary has no intention of rejecting shipments of Russian oil transported through the Druzhba pipeline, which remains the primary route for oil imports into Hungary.
