Bulgaria: Bobov Dol thermal power plant reports reduced profit despite revenue growth in H1 2025

The Bulgarian thermal power plant Bobov Dol posted a net profit of approximately €150,000 in the first half of 2025, down from €380,000 in the same period last year.

Total revenues increased significantly by 68.8%, reaching €108.3 million compared to the first six months of 2024. However, total expenditures also rose by 69.6%, amounting to €108.15 million in the first half of 2025.

TPP Bobov Dol is a 630 MW coal-fired power plant located in southwestern Bulgaria. Commissioned in 2000, it was privatized in 2008 and is now wholly owned by the local consortium Energy MK.
