Blue 1, a 50 MW solar power plant developed by Albanian companies Matrix Konstruksion and Blessed Investment near Fier, generated 118 GWh of electricity in its first year of operation. According to operations and maintenance partner Abkons, the output matches the developers’ annual forecast and can supply around 14,750 households.
The facility has been fully operational since May last year. About 75 percent of the project’s total cost was financed through a 28 million euro loan from the Green for Growth Fund.
Blue 1 represents half of a planned 100 MW solar project by the same developers, consisting of two separate 50 MW sites.
