Bosnia and Herzegovina: Energoinvest requests 1.63% natural gas price reduction for fourth quarter of 2025

The Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry has received a request from natural gas importer Energoinvest to lower gas prices for tariff customers by 1.63 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025. The proposal would reduce the price from 413.6 euros per 1,000 standard cubic meters to 406.8 euros per 1,000 standard cubic meters, effective as of 1 October 2025.

The company explained that the requested price cut is linked to developments in global oil and gas markets, as well as the pricing methodology outlined in its contract with its Russian supplier. Instead of relying solely on market exchange rates, Energoinvest applies a gas pricing formula agreed with the supplier. Under this formula, prices are determined separately for each quarter, and the same approach is then applied to end customers.

Energoinvest director Mirza Ustamujic said that this marks the third consecutive price reduction in just over a year since the appointment of the new management, with no increases during that time. He also pointed out that Eurostat data consistently ranks natural gas prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina among the lowest in Europe.

Ustamujic highlighted the significance of this achievement, noting that the country lacks its own gas storage, production fields and a developed interconnection network. Despite these constraints, he said, responsible management by Energoinvest and close cooperation with the Federal Government have ensured stable and affordable supplies for both households and businesses. If the Government approves the proposal, the revised wholesale price for distribution companies would take effect on 1 October 2025.
